Society & Architecture

Sustainable architecture create living places in wich social integration takes place. Sustainable urban planning includes, among other things, human dignity, need for security, meeting and communication facilities.

Life cycle thinking in all areas of architecture is a prerequisite for creating life quality.

Integrativ

People have always lived together in groups. The more different were the members, the more viable was the group. The stronger and more porweful was the individual, the better he was understood by the society.

This formulates our guiding principle for integrative housing shown in the Baden Württemberg model, Schwanenhof-Eichstetten.

Safety aspect

We make a difference between activ and passiv safety aspects.

Among the passiv measures we create lines of sight and visual references in order to avoid unexpected and overhelming contact. Through this we avoid disorientation of the individual and therefore we reduce the risk for potential aggression.

Among the active measures, we reduce the anonymity. This increases the responsibility of the residents, thus arise the willingness to actively participate and apathy is broken. Participation is an important factor to ensure security of all.

Architectonic measures are, for example, transformation of corridors into welcoming meeting rooms and communicativ entranceways.

Humans needs & concerns

The classical housing project will be realized by several actors who have all in common the fact that their interest are different from those of the future residents.

However, the real focus should be the needs of the residents.

Encounter rooms

Encounter places are tools to take into account as safety aspect in urban planning and to promote as integrative aspect in social development. Public meeting places fulfill people's needs for communication, dignity, respect and mutual interest. They therefore promote the development of a stable community. For example, an encounter place could be created when a bicycle parking is located in a square by a bank and a shelter instead of being located as usually in the basement.

Urban planning

Architecture and Sustainability are not solitary disciplines, they are an interdisciplinary approach to modern urban planning. Lifecycle-oriented thinking in all areas of architecture is a prerequisite for the creation of life quality. Better City - Better Life.
